Everyday you learn something new. Today I finally presented my project. I really don't know how I did, but I think my presentation was pretty good. I've never really been good with presentations and I didn't read the rubric enough because there were parts I forgot. It seemed like I did well compared to the other presentations that went up and I probably did ok because I was brave enough to go first. I also got to look at the scores for my research paper, witch I found a bit wrong. I spent a lot of time and did a lot of work on that paper and i got a B. According to what Mrs. Schwarting said in class if we address all the problems we should have an A. I did over 120 edits between my peer and my teacher. My rubric says that I didn't use enough sources when I had about 5 sources that were cited, 2 of which were videos and about 12 in my reference page. I'm not suprised that i might have had a few APA formatting errors, but I did feel there weren't organizational problems within my paper. I personally feel my paper was of the quality to get a higher grade then I received.

Everyday you learn something new. Today in language arts we watched another TEDx video. This time it was about an 11 year old working on getting people to eat organic food. His idea was great and he had a good thing but the problem is that it isn't realistic. There is a reason that everybody gets food at Fry's and Walmart. If you were to always shop at neighborhood markets you would spend a lot more on you're food. They also have food more readily available, you wouldn't have to fight the seasons. Also organic food isn't readily available in some places. If you go to a farmers market in Arizona you would find mainly meat. There aren't enough vegetables grown here as opposed to New York where there are all the Farmers markets are full of fresh vegetables. Unfortunately modern society doesn't allow us to have fresh everything. It's just not realistic.

You learn something new everyday. Today we watched a video in class about a 12 year old developing Ipod apps. I actually found it kind of ironic that recently I had tried to develop android apps. Unfortunately I couldn't because the SDK takes forever to download and my computer isn't capable of running it. Maybe ill try again in the future when I have a more capable computer. I really don't actually know how to program I figured that Android would be a simple platform, but from watching the video today I should try Java first. It was interesting to see someone so young doing that. I figured the markets wouldn't accept an app from someone young unless it was really amazing. I hadn't really gotten that far when i found out I couldn't do it. Finding out about this also gave me a few ideas for my Media Arts contest. I could accept android apps in it and possibly Ipod apps if I figure out how to install third party software on my Ipod.

Everyday you learn something new. Today we watched the Penn and Teller, and talked about perspective. I found that really interesting. Everyone has a different perspective on everything. I watched a Criminal Minds episode and at the end somone asks why criminals do the things they do. In their perspective it must just be normal or right. Perspectives seem to define people. People like to associate with people who have the same perspective on things like religion or politics or anything else. When you use some social services like Facebook they catagorize you based on these things. Everyone has a different perpective on things and it is interesting to truy to understand them.

Everyday you learn something new. As we all know tommorow is Thansgiving. I have always celebrated Thanksgiving with my family and I enjoy it. My family dosent come together very often and many live out of state, so its nice to see all of them. My dad told me that many people dont really celebrate Thansgiving, they treat it likes it's one of those "we're off of school/work"holidays. I think it is very important to give thanks for what you have. There is probaly someone who has more than you somehow or less than you somehow. Be thankful for what you do have because it always could be taken away.

Everyday you learn something new. In my STEM class we are doing a unit on problem solving. We have to do a project to attempt to solve a problem of our choosing. My partner and I came up with the problem of having a low level of media arts at our school. We decided as our solution to have a media arts contest. So far we are working on doing the cost of admission and prize. At first we were thinking of doing Ipods but if we don't make enough money from admission then we cant pay ourselves back.My only solution is to try doing a pot. We also have to start advertising to actually get it going. I don't really know a lot of kids at our school know what media arts even is.

Everyday you learn something new. A few days ago I found out that I needed to start fundraising for the field trip for New York in the summer. I thoght of a few ways like reselling on sale candy or doing a Salvation Army like fundraiser in front of buisneses. It might be a good way to learn about economics as well as all the things Ill learn on the trip. I was at the mall yesterday and found this.

It was 30$ at the store. They might make nice Christmas gifts for people. I could actually make them for around 5$ each and sell them for 15$. It would probably work to some extent. I like how people can turn something so simple into a creative piece of art. There are all kinds of simple creations and simple yet amazing artwork out there.
