Everyday you learn something new. In my Social Studies class I am studying the Great Depression. One of the main ideas was to find out how the Great Depression affected the world. I had never thought of it that way. The world is so connected. One major world power has an economic breakdown and the whole world follows along. In my research Russia was the only major country not affected, mainly because the economy was self sufficient. France was only affected because of problems prior to the depression. If those problems hadn't existed they probably wouldn't have been too bad off. The French Economy was better off because it was simpler. The world was connected in the 1930's by economics. Countries depend upon each other for trade. The Great Depression stopped that trade. Today we still depend upon each other for trade but now we also depend upon each other for communication. Website servers are based worldwide. I never realized how worldwide the depression was and how connected we are as a society.
